Your 14-day right of withdrawal

Consumers generally have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal from a distance contract, without having to give a reason. The point at which the 14-day period begins depends on what you purchase. For services and digital content not supplied on a physical medium, it generally begins when the contract is concluded.

This right is subject to certain exceptions, including those explained below.

When the right of withdrawal does not apply

EU and French consumer law provide certain circumstances in which the right of withdrawal may be lost or may no longer apply. The sections below cover the circumstances relevant to products and services currently sold by CarmenJean.

Digital content downloaded with your express consent

When you purchase digital content and expressly request its immediate supply, acknowledging that you will lose your right of withdrawal once supply begins, the 14-day withdrawal right is lost when supply of the digital content begins, provided the required conditions have been met. Your express consent and acknowledgement are collected at checkout.

If you do not wish to receive the digital content immediately, and therefore do not wish to lose your withdrawal right in this way, please contact me at hello@carmenjean.com before purchasing. I can arrange payment separately and supply the digital product after the 14-day withdrawal period has expired.

Services started during the withdrawal period at your request

If you expressly request that a service begins before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period, you may still exercise your right of withdrawal before the service has been fully performed, but you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service already provided.

Where a service has been fully performed before the end of the withdrawal period, the right of withdrawal may be lost where the legally required prior consent and acknowledgement have been given.

Your express request is collected as part of the booking and purchase process.

For services and digital content not supplied on a physical medium, the 14-day period generally runs from conclusion of the contract. For digital content supplied immediately at your express request, the withdrawal right may be lost once supply begins, as explained above.
